Amylase Enzyme helps you brew your best light and low carb beers. This helpful ingredient increases a beer’s fermentability by efficiently breaking down malts into maltose & fermentable sugars.
Alpha Amylase Enzyme is ideal for use in beers that don’t have enough naturally occurring enzymes - usually in cases of high levels of adjuncts (like corn). It can also be used to prevent starch haze in a beer.
To improve the speed of the fermentation process and craft a light or reduced calorie beer, use 1 tsp per 5 gallons of beer (or 0.1 - 0.3 Teaspoons per gallon). For an extract beer, add to fermenter when pitching yeast. For an all-grain beer, add to the mash.
