Join the Craft Society Apprentice and begin your homebrewing journey with the Initiation Imperial Stout, a bold 1-gallon recipe designed to reach 7.8% ABV. Brewed with cacao nibs, coffee, vanilla, and chile peppers, this rich, layered stout introduces new brewers to full-flavored small-batch beer while providing everything needed to get started.
The Apprentice membership is designed for those new to homebrewing who want a complete, guided experience. The included Initiation Imperial Stout kit combines carefully selected ingredients with a recipe built for reliable fermentation and balanced results, even at higher gravity.
Each month, members receive a new secret small-batch 1-gallon recipe kit developed exclusively for the Craft Society. These rotating recipes are not sold individually and are created to help brewers build confidence, expand their skills, and explore a wide range of beer styles.
The membership also includes full 1-gallon brewing equipment, allowing brewers to continue making beer beyond the first batch. An exclusive Craft Society Teku glass, coaster set, and enamel pin are included, along with access to a private online community where members can share progress, ask questions, and learn from fellow homebrewers.
Craft Society kits are widely used by homebrewers looking for consistent results, quality ingredients, and a structured path into small-batch brewing.
Initiation Begins With Our Imperial Stout
Every new member receives ingredients (& equipment if needed) to brew the Initiation Imperial Stout. This formidable beer clocks in at 7.8 %. Each glass contains a murky menagerie of chile peppers, cacao nibs, coffee beans & vanilla.
How It Works
Your first month’s shipment is $90 & includes ingredients and equipment to brew 1 gallon of our Initiation Imperial Stout PLUS the Initiation Chest filled with exclusive glassware & accessories.
After your first month, each following month is just $20 + shipping & includes a super-secret, members-only 1 gallon extract beer recipe kit. Recipe kits include ingredients to brew 1 gallon of beer with the equipment from your first month’s shipment. These never-before-seen recipes will never be seen again. Don’t miss out, because each month’s recipe is retired to make way for the next.
Membership also includes access to our digital community. In other words, you’re invited to a private Facebook Group for members to share (& steal) homebrewing knowledge and tips.

Managing Your Subscription
Pause, skip a month or cancel at ANY time. You can manage your subscription via a link that will be emailed to you upon joining. You can change your shipment frequency to receive recipes every month, every other month, once a quarter, etc. You can change your ship date if you will be out of town.
