Fermentation Temp Range
Each yeast strain has a temperature range where it performs best. Lagers require cooler temps, while Kveik yeasts can ferment in extreme heat. Maintaining the proper fermentation temperature for each yeast strain is crucial its health. Matching a yeast's ideal range to your environment (or your ability to control temp) is key to getting clean, consistent results.
Scale from 30°-120°F
Description

Looking for yeast to ferment a high gravity beer? Try SafBrew HA-18 Yeast, a powerful yeast and enzyme combination that’s perfect for producing high gravity, and particularly high alcohol beers up to 18% ABV! This is a 25g packet intended for use in a 5 gallon batch of beer.

SafBrew HA 18 is ideal for strong, high density beer styles like barley wines, strong ales and barrel aged beers. It is an all in one product that consists of both POF+ (Phenolic Off Flavor Positive) yeast and enzymes. POF+ yeast creates clove or spicy flavor.

SafBrew HA-18 Yeast exhibits high attenuation (98-102%), meaning the yeast and enzymes consume 98-102% of the sugars in the wort to produce higher alcohol content. The enzymes in HA 18 Yeast convert non-fermentable sugars, more complex sugars into fermentable sugars. Those sugars are consumed by the yeast to create alcohol.

This solution exhibits very good resistance to osmotic pressure - something that usually makes yeast more sluggish - and thrives in high fermentation temperatures between 77 - 95ºF.
