This Czech Pilsner beer recipe kit is your passport to the Bohemian mountainside. Our Czech Pilsner beer making recipe kit produces a refreshing and smooth golden lager that channels the spirit of Pilsner Urquell. Czech Pilsners are often referred to as Bohemian Pilsners, but are richer in color, body and malt character than German Pilsners. Czech Pilsners are a bit cleaner and softer, too.
This recipe features native Czech Saaz hops for rounded, spicy, floral character in your glass. This Czech Pils beer making kit also features cold fermenting lager yeast for a clean finish. If you’re new to brewing lagers, don’t worry - tips for temperature control are included with our Czech Pilsner kit. If you love light, refreshing lagers, this Czech Pilsner beer recipe kit and our Light Craft Lager Kit are great places to start.
This Czech Pilsner beer recipe kit is ideal for brewers who already have their own equipment. Czech Pilsner beer recipe kits are available in 5 gallon kits for large batch brewers.
A note on water selection: Czech Pilsners are traditionally brewed with soft water. For an authentic brew, consider using filtered water & diluting with distilled water. If you do not have filtered water, try half spring water + half distilled water.
A note on temperature control: Lagers are best fermented at cooler temperatures. This Czech Pilsner Beer Recipe Kit uses W-34/70 yeast, which can ferment between 58 - 68°F though it can tolerate up to 72°F. For best results a cooler fermentation temperature is ideal.
