If brewing clearer beer is your goal, try Irish Moss! A kettle fining derived from seaweed, and a major source of carrageenan that is used as a clarifier in home brewing.
Irish Moss enhances cold break (protein coagulation) in the kettle for clearer beer. Essentially, it pulls proteins and small particles out of suspension during brewing for a clearer, less hazy finish.
Recommended dosage is 1 teaspoon per 5 gallons. Add on brew day with 15 minutes left in the boil. For best results, rehydrate for 10 minutes in a small amount of cold water before adding to the kettle.
