Fermentation Temp Range
Each yeast strain has a temperature range where it performs best. Lagers require cooler temps, while Kveik yeasts can ferment in extreme heat. Maintaining the proper fermentation temperature for each yeast strain is crucial its health. Matching a yeast's ideal range to your environment (or your ability to control temp) is key to getting clean, consistent results.

Description

Looking for extra yeast for homebrewing beer? Try our Weizen Ale Yeast, the strain used in our 1 gallon Hefeweizen beer kits.

This pre-measured 2 g packet of wheat ale yeast ferments 1 gallon of beer. This strain provides fruity & phenolic character - specifically, the signature banana, and clove esters that German wheat beers are known for.

This yeast strain thrives in a fermentation temperature range of 54 - 77°F (ideally 64 - 75ºF). It is an ideal yeast for wheat based beers, including German Weizen beers & Belgian Wit beers. This yeast strain also remains quite suspended during fermentation, which leads to hazy & unfiltered finished beer. Weizen Ale Yeast is very similar to Safale WB-06.

Our active dry yeasts do not require hydration or a yeast starter before pitching to begin fermentation.

Use this yeast strain in your own 1 gallon wheat beer recipes - like a Hefeweizen, Dunkelweizen or Weizenbock!
