Acid Blend brings balance to a homemade wine’s flavor, especially a fruit wine. A wine too low in acid can taste flat, while a wine too high in acid can taste sour. Balanced acidity is an important part of a well rounded wine. 

This ingredient is particularly important when making fruit wines from fruit naturally low in acid (such as bananas or grapes not bred for winemaking). Acid Blend balances pH to create a suitable fermentation environment for yeast. It also helps preserve the wine, balance color and enhance flavor. 

This is the same Acid Blend that is included in our Fruit Wine Kit. It contains a an equal blend of 3 acids - Malic, Citric and Tartaric - to create a complex flavor.

Recommended dose per gallon of low-acid wine: ¼ to ⅓ tsp.
