Briess Pilsen Light DME (dry malt extract) is used in many of our beer recipe kits, including American Pale Ale, White House Honey Ale & New England IPA. Now available for individual purchase, Dry Malt Extract is perfect for those looking to build their own homebrew recipes, boost the ABV on a beer recipe or create a yeast starter.
Briess Pilsen Light DME is an extremely pale dry malt extract made from base malt and Carapils. It has malty flavor and light color, making it ideal for any pale beer style (or even darker styles)! It is not pre-hopped, allowing you full creative control over your brews.
DME has many advantages over all grain, including shorter brew day, improved body & head retention, and consistency between batches.
Available in 5 sizes: 1.25 lb, 1.5 lb & 6.25 lb bags.
- 1.25 lb Briess Pilsen Light DME: used in most of our 1 gallon beer recipes. Ideal base malts for a 1 gallon beer. Can also be used to boost ABV in a 5 gallon beer recipe.
- 1.5 lb Briess Pilsen Light DME: used select 1 gallon beer recipes for increased ABV (like Oak Aged IPA & Single Hop IPA Series). Can also be used to boost ABV in a 5 gallon beer recipe.
- 6.25 lb Briess Pilsen Light DME: used in most of our 5 gallon beer recipes. Ideal base malts for a 5 gallon beer.
