Alpha Acids
Different hop varieties contain varying amounts of alpha acids—even the same hop variety may exhibit different levels. This also depends on factors such as growing conditions and harvesting time. The AA% can vary between 1% up to 20% in hops. Therefore, brewers maintain the consistency of their beer's flavor profile by accurately measuring and controlling the AA content.

Nectaron is a premium New Zealand hop variety originally designated HORT 4337, developed in partnership with New Zealand's Plant and Food Research over 17 years before its commercial release in 2020. It is a daughter of Pacific Jade and a full sister of Waimea.

Brewers often describe Nectaron hops as producing intense notes of pineapple, passion fruit, peach, and grapefruit with a juicy tropical character. This bold profile has quickly made it one of the most sought-after NZ varieties for modern hazy and juicy IPA styles.

Nectaron performs exceptionally well in late additions and dry hopping where its intense tropical aromatics can fully develop. It has proven itself as an award-winning hop, delivering a consistent dose of high quality tropical character every time.

Nectaron hops are widely used in modern hop-forward styles where intense tropical aroma defines the finished beer.
