Belgian White Ale is a classic wheat beer style defined by its hazy, luminous pour, soft citrus aroma, and delicate spice character. This recipe is inspired by the wit bier tradition made famous by Allagash Brewing — the most awarded Belgian-style beer in American craft brewing — scaled to a full 5-gallon batch.

LalBrew Wit is a versatile wheat beer yeast strain well-suited to Belgian witbier and a wide range of wheat styles. Its low flocculation keeps the beer naturally suspended for a beautifully hazy pour, while contributing a balanced baseline of fruity and spicy character that frames rather than dominates the citrus, spice, and malt flavors.

This 5-gallon recipe kit includes all the ingredients needed to brew Belgian White Ale at home:

Briess Bavarian Wheat DME
Steeping grains, including Carapils, Flaked Oats and White Wheat Malt
Nugget hops
Crystal hops
Saaz hops
Bitter Orange Peel
Coriander
Grains of Paradise
Grain steeping bag
Your choice of yeast (dry, liquid or none if you have your own)

Note: Brewing equipment is not included. This kit is designed for brewers who already own a 5-gallon brewing setup.

Liquid yeast can deliver excellent fermentation performance and a wider range of strain options, but it’s a living, perishable product that requires a little extra care.

Liquid yeast may arrive warm. Ice packs help reduce heat exposure but do not guarantee cold arrival.
Refrigerate it when received and plan to brew as soon as possible.
We recommend adding an insulated mailer + ice pack to liquid yeast orders.
During May–September, dry yeast is strongly recommended due to higher shipping temperatures.
Liquid yeast is final sale and cannot be replaced due to heat exposure during transit.
