✅ Beginner-friendly with step-by-step brewing support

A rich, malty German Dunkel with deep, bready character and a smooth, clean finish.

German for “dark,” Dunkel is a traditional Munich-style lager known for its malt richness and drinkability. This German Dunkel 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit showcases Bonlander Munich Malt's toasted bread crust character, supported by noble Hallertau Mittelfruh hops.

With low bitterness and a full, malt-forward profile, this lager stays smooth and highly drinkable. Proper fermentation under lager conditions enhances clarity and reinforces the style's rich, bready finish.

This 5-gallon German Dunkel Beer Recipe Kit includes:

6.25 lb Dark Dry Malt Extract
Specialty grains: Bonlander Munich Malt, Midnight Wheat
Hallertau Mittelfruh (Bittering) Hops Packet
Hallertau Mittelfruh (Flavor & Aroma) Hops Packet
Your choice of lager yeast (dry yeast, liquid yeast, or no yeast if you have your own)
Grain Steeping Bag
Detailed brewing instructions

This is an ingredient-only Beer Recipe Kit. Brewing equipment is not included.

Liquid yeast can deliver excellent fermentation performance and a wider range of strain options, but it’s a living, perishable product that requires a little extra care.

Liquid yeast may arrive warm. Ice packs help reduce heat exposure but do not guarantee cold arrival.
Refrigerate it when received and plan to brew as soon as possible.
We recommend adding an insulated mailer + ice pack to liquid yeast orders.
During May–September, dry yeast is strongly recommended due to higher shipping temperatures.
Liquid yeast is final sale and cannot be replaced due to heat exposure during transit.
