✅ Advanced all-grain brewing with clear step-by-step guidance

Cold IPA is a modern IPA style that blends lager fermentation character with hop-forward intensity.

This beer delivers bright hop aroma layered over a light, crisp malt base. Unlike traditional IPAs, it finishes drier and cleaner, creating a more refreshing and highly drinkable profile.

Fermenting cool, like a lager — with the exact range depending on your chosen yeast strain — produces a smooth, neutral backbone that allows hop character to stand out without heaviness or lingering sweetness.

Brewing your Cold IPA follows a standard all grain brewing process with a modern fermentation approach:

Mash & Brew: Mash grains, boil wort, and add hops as directed
Ferment: Ferment cool, like a lager — the ideal temperature range depends on which yeast strain you choose
Dry Hop: Add hops post-fermentation to enhance aroma and brightness
Enjoy: Ready to drink in about 4 weeks

Maintaining proper fermentation temperature helps achieve the clean finish that defines the Cold IPA style.

Liquid yeast can deliver excellent fermentation performance and a wider range of strain options, but it’s a living, perishable product that requires a little extra care.

Liquid yeast may arrive warm. Ice packs help reduce heat exposure but do not guarantee cold arrival.
Refrigerate it when received and plan to brew as soon as possible.
We recommend adding an insulated mailer + ice pack to liquid yeast orders.
During May–September, dry yeast is strongly recommended due to higher shipping temperatures.
Liquid yeast is final sale and cannot be replaced due to heat exposure during transit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this kit include brewing equipment?

No, this is an ingredient-only kit. A 5-gallon all grain brewing system is required.

What makes a Cold IPA different from a traditional IPA?

Cold IPAs use lager yeast fermented cool, like a lager — the exact range depends on the yeast strain chosen — creating a cleaner, crisper finish than typical ales.

How hoppy is this beer?

It features a bold hop aroma with moderate to high bitterness, balanced by a clean finish.

Is this beer bitter?

It has noticeable bitterness, but the dry finish keeps it smooth and refreshing rather than heavy. Generous doses of late-in-the-boil hops and dry hops add plenty of juicy, tropical hop flavor.

How long does it take to brew?

Your beer will be ready to drink in about 4 weeks.

Is this recipe available year-round?

Yes, this recipe kit can be brewed any time of year.
