A crisp, hop-forward Cold IPA with bright citrus and subtle tropical notes, a light body, and a clean, dry finish.

This Cold IPA Beer Recipe Kit produces a modern hybrid IPA that blends ale and lager brewing techniques for a uniquely smooth and refreshing result. Fermented with lager yeast at cool temperatures (58–68°F, tolerant up to 72°F), it delivers clean fermentation character while allowing hop aroma to shine. Expect a lighter malt profile with a dry finish that enhances drinkability without sacrificing hop presence.

At 7% ABV, this Cold IPA offers bold hop flavor with a crisp, refreshing character that sets it apart from traditional IPAs.

Brewing your Cold IPA is simple and approachable for homebrewers with basic equipment:

• Brew: Steep grains, boil wort, and add hops to build bright aroma and balanced bitterness
• Ferment: Pitch lager yeast and ferment cool — 58–68°F, tolerant up to 72°F — for a clean, smooth profile
• Bottle: Add dry hops, then bottle and allow natural carbonation
• Enjoy: Your beer is ready in about 4 weeks

Dry hopping enhances aroma and contributes to the crisp, hop-forward character that defines this style.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this recipe kit include brewing equipment?

No. This is an ingredient-only kit. You will need your own 1-gallon brewing equipment.

What equipment do I need to brew this Cold IPA?

You will need a fermentation vessel, airlock, siphon, bottles, and basic brewing tools.

Is this Cold IPA recipe kit beginner-friendly?

Yes. It is suitable for beginners who already have basic brewing equipment and want to try a modern IPA style.

What makes a Cold IPA different from a traditional IPA?

Cold IPAs use lager yeast fermented cool, like a lager (58–68°F, tolerant up to 72°F), resulting in a cleaner, crisper finish than traditional ales.

How long does it take to brew this beer?

Your Cold IPA will be ready to drink in about 4 weeks, including fermentation and bottle conditioning.

Is this Cold IPA very bitter?

No, this Cold IPA features a small dose of hops on brew day for clean bitterness. Juicy hop flavor comes from a late-addition dose of fruity Citra & Mosaic hops. A generous dry hop addition of Citra & Mosaic layers in more hop flavor and aroma than bitterness.
